Continuous-Indexing Vacuum Belt Filter

Process Continuous-Indexing Vacuum Belt Filter

Continuous-Indexing Vacuum Belt Filter
Continuous-Indexing Vacuum Belt Filter

Description

The BHS Continuous-Indexing Vacuum Belt Filter provides for vacuum filtration, cake washing, pressing, and drying of high solids slurries. The technology is based upon fixed vacuum trays, continuously feeding slurry systems, and indexing or stepwise movement of the filter media.

For the process operation, due to the stepwise operation of the belt, washing and drying efficiencies are maximized with the stopped belt and the mechanism of “plug-flow” for gasses and liquids. Cake pressing and squeezing further enhances drying. Finally, the fixed trays allow for the mother liquor and the wash filtrates to be recovered individually and recirculated/recovered/reused for a more efficient operation. Steaming as well as counter-current washing are able to be integrated into the design.

Highlights

Versatile materials of construction

Able to be built from either stainless steel or polypropylene materials of construction. This allows for an extreme range of chemical compatibility while offering a low-cost solution alternative to expensive alloys.

Minimal moving parts

The indexing vacuum belt filter features a stationary filter bed, with only the filter belt and rollers in motion. This design results in an extremely low-maintenance filtration system.

Open or Gas-Tight Design

BHS Offers a completely gas-tight design that allows for filtration of flammable materials in a completely inert, closed-loop nitrogen atmosphere.
